First Look at Rick Grimes, Cast Member Added to ‘The Walking Dead’

We’ve had two peeks at the titular zombies of AMC’s The Walking Dead but now we get to see the first photo of a survivor, but not just any survivor.  Andrew Lincoln plays Rick Grimes, the central character of Robert Kirkland’s comic-turned-tv show. And he looks awesome.

Says Kirkman:

Writing this book for the past seven years I’ve gotten very close to the character of Rick. Andrew Lincoln embodies every aspect of the character that fans know and love. After seeing this photo I don’t think that there will be a doubt in anyone’s mind that he’s perfect for the role.

This photo comes on the heels of Bloody Disgusting breaking the news that Atlanta native Chandler Riggs will be playing Carl, Rick’s son. Riggs is a relative newcomer with two previous credits on his resume, one including the soon to be released Get Low starring Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, Gerald McRaney, and Sissy Spacek to name a few.

The Walking Dead, which so far has a six episode order, premieres on AMC in October, 2010.

About Tamara Brooks

A few things I wondered about as a kid: Why didn't Wonder Woman punch more bad guys in the face on the tv show?; How does Superman flying around the Earth turn back time?; Could someone really catch bullets with their teeth?; Why didn't the liquid bits of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man cause 3rd degree burns on whoever it landed on? Because melted marshmallow is up there with molten hot lava.
